Well, I bowled in Nationals 6/13 & 6/14....bowled like crap because i stuck on the lanes and about blew my knee out. IT was enjoyable except for the rainstorm I had to drive back in and it took me 45 minutes for a 20 minute drive.
Well now to the broken foot.....I was walking from one of the buildings with the company I am with to another one and my left foot just broke. The doc things I might have broken it some other time and not known it. So now I am out of bowling until at least August 16 when I go back to him again. I did this on 6/27 and I will be 7 weeks on crutches when I go back.
Well as the title says I bowled in the Queens tournament. I didnt fair so well but I can manage to say I busted a 200 game while I was there and it was a 237 and one of the pros bowling beside me actually told me nice game....major ego boost there!
I have never bowled so bad in my life.....my nerves got the best of me. First nite I went out and in 5 games only shot a 719 series. Then I came back the second nite and shot a 923 series in 5 games. Had I bowled the 923 both nites I would have made it to the top 100 cut. I have to say it was an interesting experience and I got to see some interesting people and their styles of bowling. The young lady that bowled on my lanes left the big 4 and picked it up which was rather interesting to see since its not done often.
If you want to see the results you can check it out on www.bowl.com and then find the queens tournament final result and you will see i finished 303 out of 341.
I am heading back down to Charlotte, NC June 13th thru the 17th to bowl in Nationals so I am excited to go back down and show myself that it was just the nerves that got me and I can score what I should be scoring.
Until the next time I have more news......
(In case I forgot I got voted in as Vice President of my local bowling association so I am rather excited to be taking on this job and I hope I live up to the standards of the position)
Good news....the young man I bowled with in the youth family twosome
tournament got a trophy for bowling with me because we won first place
in handicap division. I am glad he got a trophy again but I just
got a pat on the back this year. Last year we got half way
descent trophies for coming in first place.
The Parkersburg
(WV) Open City Tournament has completed and my mixed team (2 men -2
women) came in first with a 2974 and just little over 500 in
handicap. We actually got both scratch and handicap but they are
only running money for the handicap division. My doubles partner
and I finished out in 9th place but that is ok because I got to watch
him throw a 298 in singles which made me proud but I gave him crap
since he did it in singles and not in doubles....hehehe!
Its
getting closer to that time to go down to Queens in Charlotte,
NC......IM EXCITED yet very nervous. I am sure I will be a wreck
when it comes to opening day. I told my boss at work that I am
sure she will probably see me back monday at work because I would be
lucky if I made it thru the weekend....but in the back of my mind I am
hoping I can make it thru and cash out at a descent amount....keep your
fingers crossed that I do good enough to make myself happy!
Keep the balls rolling, the strikes coming, the spares captured, and the high games flying.
Well, at the beginning of February I bowled with one of the Youth
kids in the Family Twosome and still waiting on the results from that
tournament. I didnt do so bad after being out of the line of
things for about a month. I shot a 6--something.
A couple
weekends ago we had our Parkersburg (WV) Womens City Tournament.
My team didnt fair well but we had fun and we loved our team name....4
Sandbaggers & A Bowler.....the 4 baggers all averaged 155 or higher
and our bowler was our low person with a 106 average. Then
a girl and I bowled in the doubles and I shot high game for the
tournament of a 245 but I didnt get anything from it.
This past
weekend (March 3 & 4) the Marietta (Ohio) Womens City Tournament
took place. Results are still pending on the team event but when
my team got finished we were leading the pack. I rolled horrible
that day but luckily I had 4 other team members to cover my tush.
I rolled 528 in doubles and 596 in singles. I did capture the
singles scratch division and had high game with a 239 until a lady with
a 150 average came in an blew out a 272 game.
Starting
this coming weekend (March 10 & 11) is the Parkersburg (WV) Open
City Tournament. My doubles partner from last year and I are
going to go back and defend our 1st place prize. Keep you fingers
crossed we can hold onto the title for a 2nd year in a row.
I
want to send a big congrats out to Mike Mineman who won his first title
here in Parkersburg during the Bayer Classic at Emerson Lanes......boy
was it a thrill to see him win!
Well, I am avid bowler.....I aquired my nickname of 7 Pinkid when I
was bowling one evening and left pretty much a whole game of nothing
but 7 pins *which they all should have been strikes...hehehe* I
have achieved a few things in my life....I have rolled 2 --11 strikes
in a row, rolled a 290 game (the same night and same league just 2
pairs of lanes from me another left I worked with at the time rolled a
290 game as well) , shot my first 700 series --735 -- the night prior
to having knee surgery. When I rolled the 290 game I also
received a 100 pins over average watch along with one of my 11 strikes
in a row plaque. Our local association gives away a plaque for
rolling 30 clean frames and I have received it as well.
I
am very proud of our local association because they are doing their
best to make sure each of the bowlers are being taken care of .......
BUT......dont get me started on the womens state association......if
you wanna know just ask and I will tell how disappointed in that
association I am........along with many others.
I got an
invitation to go bowl in the USBC Queens tournament which to me is one
of the biggest invitations I could ever receive from
bowling.......except for being asked to go pro (only in my dreams I
know this)........
As things progress with my bowling I will add more at a later time.
